Alliance Team March On
With the first team inactive at the weekend the Alliance side were involved in a tough test of their title credentials at old rivals Rochdale Mayfield, and passed with flying colours with a 46-24 success at Castleton. Connor Partington grabbed the scoring headlines with four tries, with further scores coming from Gareth Pain (two), Joe Harrison, Garry Fitzmartin and Jimmy Wilkinson. Sam Shepherd added the goals with Todd Appleby also landing a successful conversion. The returning Martin Lewis, back from lengthy injury lay-off, was named man of the match.
The Alliance now sit one point behind league leaders Orrell St James.
