Leigh Miners make their fourth trip of the season to Humberside on Saturday to take on East Hull in Round 21 of the NCL, Kick off 2-30pm at Rosmead Street.

Miners travel over the Pennines in a confident mood after picking up a much needed two points in Tuesday night’s 22-10 derby win against Ince Rose Bridge to move them up to eighth in the table on twenty points and they will now be hoping to kick on with some strong performances in the coming weeks to give them every possible chance of sneaking into the playoffs. The lads though will be taking it week by week and won’t be getting too far ahead of themselves as they know it will be a tough ask but if they can produce the same level of performances that they have in the last two games against Thatto Heath and Ince Rose Bridge then they will be in with a shout come the end of the season of making the six.

Coaches Allan Coleman & Paul Whitworth will make at least two changes from Tuesday night with Danny Jones being away on holiday and Mark Nicholson dropping back into the u18s for their game on Sunday, Coming into the side are Connor Partington and Lee Wingfield. Hopefully they will be the only changes to the side depending on if a couple of lads recover from knocks picked up midweek.

East Hull currently sit one place below Miners in the table in ninth place with nineteen points and go into Saturday’s game freshened up after having no league game for two weeks, their last outing was against Siddal away where they lost 48-6. Easts are in a similar position to Miners with them too having a slim chance of making the playoffs but they know they will probably have to win all their games if they are to make the six. When the two teams met at Twist Lane earlier in the season Miners won 50-22.

UNFORTUNATLEY THEIR WILL BE NO MATCHCAST THIS WEEK BUT IT WILL BE BACK NEXT WEEKEND FOR THE LOCK LANE GAME.

The second team are at home to Chorley Panthers on Saturday in the league, Kick off 2-30pm at Twist Lane.

The u18s are away at Hindley on Sunday in the league.

Leigh Miners Ladies are at home to Stanningley on Sunday in the league, Kick off 2pm at Twist Lane.
