Leigh Miners take on East Hull on Saturday in Round 12 of the NCL looking to bounce straight back after last weekend’s awful performance away at Thatto Heath Crusaders, Kick off 2-30pm at Twist Lane.

It’s the start of a big three weeks for Miners with them having three successive home fixtures and at this stage of the season they really are must win with Miners hovering just two points above the bottom three, a defeat in any of the next three home games will really see Miners in a relegation battle something they will be keen to avoid after having such high expectations for this year. If Miners are to pick up a much needed two points on Saturday they will need a drastic improvement in their performance than the one they produced last weekend at Thatto Heath, with being extremely poor in attack and defence the lads know they are going to have to buck up their ideas and quick or it could end up being a long season for an underachieving Miners side.

With one half of the coaching duo Allan Coleman being away coaching the BARLA U19s in Ukraine the other half Paul Whitworth welcomes back Jonny Carroll Liam Coleman Danny Jackson Danny Jones Steven Marsh and John Woods, dropping out of the side are Todd Appleby Semisi Cocker Martin Gray (holiday) Gareth Paine Dave Rowlands and Chris Slater (injured). There is some good news for Miners on the injury front with both Lee Gittins and Lee Wingfield returning to action in the next couple of weeks and Andrew Groves hopeful of returning next weekend.

East Hull travel to Leigh freshened up after having no fixture last weekend knowing that a victory could well see them back in the top six on Saturday evening, The Bandits are currently in eighth position on eleven points and have recently been boosted by the signings of Matty Brooks who returns to the club after a short stint with Skirlaugh and Ian Kerman who joins after playing in Australia earlier this year and having previously played for West Hull last season.
