Leigh Miners make their final visit of the season to Humberside on Saturday when they take on Hull Dockers in a rearranged NCL Round 24 fixture, the game being brought forward two weeks due to Miners involvement in the Conference Challenge Trophy final that weekend, Kick off 2-30pm at The Willows.

Miners travel to Hull on the back of a heavy 56-24 home defeat against Lock Lane to all but end their chances of making the end of season playoffs, mathematically it is still possible but the chances of Siddal and Egremont Rangers who currently sit in fifth and sixth position seriously slipping up is highly unlikely so realistically Miners best possible finish will be seventh providing they pick up points in their last four league games which will be disappointing really after having high hopes at the start of the season. The lads know they will need a much improved performance than the one they turned out last week against Lock Lane with them being very poor defensively in the second half and with this being the last run out before the Challenge Trophy final in a couple of weeks they will be looking for a strong performance to make sure they are not left out of the final side against Wigan St Pats.

Coaches Allan Coleman and Paul Whitworth make four changes from last week with Kev Howells Scott O’Brien Chris Slater and Lee Wingfield all dropping out, coming in for these four are Tom Farrimond Danny Jackson Luke Murfin and Connor Partington. Darryl Kay misses the game after being called up for the England Community Lions along with Liam Coleman Gary Gittins Lee Gittins Steven Marsh Dave Rowlands and Adam Thomason who all miss the game through injury.

Hull Dockers go into Saturdays game on the back of a 32-12 home defeat against Wigan St Pats and are currently in ninth place in the league on twenty points with three games remaining, Dockers can’t make the playoffs or be relegated but they will be looking to finish the season strongly and finish as high as they can in the table. When the two teams met at Twist Lane in June Miners won 38-6.
