Leigh Miners take on local rivals Ince Rose Bridge on Saturday afternoon in a rearranged NCL Round 3 fixture after the original game which was scheduled to take place in March was postponed due to heavy snow, Kick off 2-30pm at Twist Lane.

It was a much improved performance from Miners last weekend with them scoring their highest points of the season (50), playing some good fast expansive rugby running in nine tries, the only down fall to Miners attack was a ten to fifteen minute period in the second half when they went away from what they was doing well and started to throw silly passes out which resulted in poor completion and that allowed East Hull a chance to get back into the game with Miners doing way to much defending in that period. On Saturday they will be looking for a complete eighty minute performance playing fast attacking rugby with a high completion rate backed up with some tough penalty free defence, if Miners can produce that sort of performance they should pick up an important two points to move them further up the table away from the bottom three but all the lads definitely will not be taking anything for granted because they know it will be tough encounter against an Ince side also desperate for the two points.

Coaches Allan Coleman and Paul Whitworth make just one change from last week’s team with Chris Slater coming in for the injured Danny Jackson.

Ince Rose Bridge go into the game on the back of six successive defeats all away from home, a run that has seen them slip from mid table down into the bottom three into thirteenth position but they will see a local derby as the ideal opportunity to turn their fortunes around and get back to winning ways.

Miners have won both games against their visitors so far this year, the first a friendly victory at Pinfold Street at the end of February and the second being a 48-16 win at Twist Lane just over a month ago in the first round of the Conference Challenge Trophy.
