It’s derby day on Tuesday when Leigh Miners make the short walk over the canal bridge to take on local rivals Leigh East in Round 5 of the NCL, Kick off 7-30pm at LSV. It is sure to be an emotional evening after the sad news over the weekend of Leigh East legend John Lewis who passed away on Friday, The club would like to send their deepest condolences to John’s wife Rita and the family at this very sad time. Both teams will be going into the game full of confidence after recording back to back wins and will be looking to take the early season bragging rights with victory against their nearest rivals. Miners should have a fully fit squad to choose from with only Aaron Gorton missing with an ankle injury.
