Leigh Miners take on Thatto Heath Crusaders on Wednesday night in Round 19 of the NCL, Kick off 8pm at Twist Lane.

Miners go into this midweek encounter on the back of some poor results in the league to leave them five points behind sixth place Siddal and eight behind leaders Thatto Heath. The lads know they cannot really afford another league defeat this season if they are to have any chance of appearing in the end of season playoffs, but if they produce anymore performances like they did on Saturday especially against sides like Thatto then they could be on the wrong end of an hiding like they was back in June when they lost 50-4 at Close Street.

Coaches Allan Coleman & Paul Whitworth will be without Darryl Kay and Dave Rowlands from the York Acorn game with the other fifteen lads all being available for selection, Darryl being unavailable due to a groin injury and also being named in the England Community Lions squad for Fridays Four Nations game against Ireland in Hemel and Dave being out with a shoulder injury. Coming back into the side are Liam Coleman who returns after missing last weekend due to the birth of his son Ryder along with Andrew Groves Danny Jones Luke Murfin and Connor Partington while u18s utility player Mark Nicholson could also feature.

Thatto Heath travel to Twist Lane in a confident mood having won their last four matches to see them move joint to the top of the table on twenty six points with Lock Lane but with two games in hand.
