Leigh Miners travel to Halifax on Saturday where they take on Siddal in Round 17 of the NCL, Kick off 2-30pm at Chevinedge. It is sure to be a tough challenge but one Miners will be looking forward too as they will be looking to complete a league double over their hosts having won 92-0 at Twist Lane back in March when Siddal opted to send a reserve side with the first team going to Hunslet Old Boys to play in the BARLA National Cup. Miners are forced into five changes from last week’s derby win against Leigh East with Aaron Gorton and John Woods both missing through injury, Ross Bradley due to work commitments, Liam Coleman away at a wedding and Darryl Kay who is away on international duty for the English Lions. Young half back Josh Ward will start at stand off after impressing last week with Craig Connor and Ryan Ravenscroft coming back into the side along with Garry Dunn, Gareth Payne and Stephen Tooze who has recently re-joined the club. After a shaky start to the season Siddal are back at the top end of the table in third, a place above Miners who are fourth.

The second team are at home against Wigan Spring View tonight (Friday), Kick off 7-30pm at Twist Lane.

The u18s are at home to Rylands Sharks on Sunday in the Conference Youth League, Kick off 1-30pm at Twist Lane.
