Leigh Miners welcome East Leeds to Twist Lane for the first time in over ten years on Saturday when they meet in Round Four of the NCL Kingstone Press Cider Premier Division, Kick off 2-30pm. The last meeting being in the 2002/2003 season when Miners where comfortable 48-4 winners but it is unlikely to be anything near comfortable for the home side this time round with East Leeds coming to Leigh with a reputation of being a good tough skillful side.

It will be the same attitude as last week for Miners with them needing to respect the ball more and have a much higher completion rate, if they can do that they will be confident of picking up the two points and not be left frustrated like they was last week at Lock Lane when they again turned to much ball over and in the end it cost them picking up the two points when the game was there for the taking, Lock Lane feeding off the back of Miners errors to win the game.

Coaches Allan Coleman & Paul Whitworth will be forced into making at least one change from the Lock Lane game with Martin Gray being away on holiday, Matt Astley and Danny Jackson both come back into contention this week for a place in the seventeen.

East Leeds make the journey over the Pennines unbeaten in the league having beaten local rivals Hunslet Warriors and Skirlaugh so far this season, last weekend they lost 54-0 but put in a creditable performance against Championship Grand Final winners Sheffield Eagles in the third round of the Tetley’s Challenge Cup. Easts have returned to the top flight after an absence of over ten years having won back to back championships over the last couple of years (Division 1 & 2) and will now be looking to put their mark down on the Premier Division this time around.
