Leigh Miners entertain Egremont Rangers on Saturday afternoon in Round 10 of the NCL, Kick off 2-30pm at Twist Lane.

It’s a massive game for Miners and one they cannot afford to lose because the lads know if they do and other results go against them they could find themselves in the bottom three as the season heads towards the midway point. A big thing Miners will be looking to improve on is their defence, having shipped in over thirty points on five occasions this year they need to tighten up and quick if they are to pick up some much needed victories and move themselves in the right direction up the league ladder.

Coaches Allan Coleman and Paul Whitworth have made two changes from the sixteen that travelled to Siddal with Jonny Carroll and Joe Harrison dropping out of the side being replaced by Danny Jones Darryl Kay and Tony Doyle who comes up from the second team for his first appearance of the year to complete the seventeen. On the injury front John Woods has returned to training after missing the last couple of months but Miners will have to wait a good few weeks if not longer for the return of Ross Bradley Lee Gittins Martin Lewis Shaun Marsh Jimmy Muir and Lee Wingfield.

Egremont have made an excellent start to life in the Premier Division winning six of their nine games to leave them third in the table two points off top spot with a game in hand, one of them victories being a 36-6 home victory over Miners back in March. The Mont travel to Twist Lane freshened up after having no game last weekend and they will be looking to complete a league double over Miners to keep the pressure on at the top of the table.
