Leigh Miners return to the field on Saturday to take on Egremont Rangers at home in Round 14 of the NCL Kingstone Press Cider Premier Division, Kick off at the earlier time of 2pm at Twist Lane.

Miners have been without a game since the 7th of June when they put in an impressive performance to win 23-6 at Twist Lane against an high flying Lock Lane side. With it being frustrating for the lads not playing for three weeks after such a good win, it has given them a chance to rest up and recover from any niggly injuries that have been troubling them as they approach an important second half of the season. Miners are currently occupying the final playoff position (6th), and will be looking to extend their unbeaten home record this season with another strong performance to stay in the six come Saturday evening, against an Egremont side who like Miners like to play a fast attacking brand of rugby.

Coaches Allan Coleman & Paul Whitworth will have a healthy squad to choose from ahead of Saturdays game with only Sean MacDonald unavailable from the Lock Lane win, Matt Astley Matty Campbell Mathew Meaden and Jack Probert all come back into contention for a place in the seventeen. Danny Jones and Adam Thomason are the only real injury concerns for Miners with them both being ruled out for the foreseeable future with knee and shoulder injuries respectively.

Egremont are expected to travel to Twist Lane with a near full strength squad, centre Leon Crellin there only major absentee missing with a shoulder injury. The Mont go into Saturdays game on the back of two successive home league and cup victories against Skirlaugh to leave them in 9th position, three points behind Miners but with a game in hand and there reward for their cup win is a home tie against Crosfields next weekend in the second round of the Conference Challenge Trophy.
