Leigh Miners make their second trip of the season to Humberside on Saturday looking for a quick response after a disappointing result and last twenty minutes performance last week in Cumbria when they take on Hull Dockers in Round 8 of the NCL Kingstone Press Cider Premier Division, Kick off 2-30pm at The Willows.
Miners travel to Humberside on the back of a heavy 44-12 defeat away at Wath Brow Hornets last weekend, after being well in the game for 55 minutes leading 12-6 it was a twenty minutes to forget for Miners who where blown away in the final quarter against a rampant Brow side who grew in confidence from each try they scored. The lads are hoping that was just a blip last weekend regarding the heavy scoreline and will be looking to bounce straight back with a strong performance in Hull against a Dockers side who will be buzzing after last weeks derby win against West Hull.
Coaches Allan Coleman & Paul Whitworth will be forced into making at least four changes from last weekend with Shaun Dowie and Martin Gray both being away for the weekend along with Tom Farrimond and Lee Gittins who miss the game through injury. Coming into the side are Matty Campbell Ellis Grimes Andrew Groves Sean MacDonald Jimmy Muir and captain Scott O’Brien.
Hull Dockers go into Saturdays clash on the back of an excellent 22-16 derby victory against NCL champions West Hull, the win being their first league win of the season which has moved them off the foot of the table at the expense of Wigan St Judes.
