Leigh Miners take on Lock Lane on Saturday in Round 22 of the NCL, Kick off 2-30pm at Twist Lane.

Miners go into Saturdays game on the back of two successive away wins against Ince Rose Bridge a week on Tuesday ago (22-10) and East Hull last Saturday (18-14), the much needed victories moving Miners within two points of sixth place Egremont Rangers and also ensuring Miners play Premier Division rugby again next season after being in danger of being sucked into a relegation battle before picking up these two wins. Miners know they will have to be at their best on Saturday if they are to beat a Lock Lane side who are going for the minor premiership in their first year back in the top flight for a number of years, the players knowing they must produce an eighty minute performance and not the twenty to thirty minute one they put in at East Hull last week if they are to get the two points and with the club being saddened earlier this week with the passing of club legend Harry Westhead the lads will be determined to get a win for Harry and keep them still within a shout of a top six spot.

Coaches Allan Coleman & Paul Whitworth make four changes from the sixteen that travelled to East Hull with Liam Coleman (jaw) & Gary Gittins (calf) both missing through injury along with Darryl Kay & Connor Partington who both are away on holiday. Coming into the side are Danny Jones Mark Nicholson Chris Slater Josh Ward and Luke Warburton.

Lock Lane travel to Leigh on the back of two successive home wins against Siddal (20-4) and Ince Rose Bridge (40-6) to leave them in second position on thirty points with four games remaining two points behind league leaders Thatto Heath Crusaders. When the two teams met at the end of July in Castleford, Lock Lane produced a strong performance to run out comfortable 36-6 winners and they will be looking for something similar this time round as they look to continue their push towards the minor premiership.
