Leigh Miners play their final home game of the season on Saturday when they take on Myton Warriors in the penultimate Round (25) of the NCL regular season, Kick off 2-30pm at Twist Lane.

Miners go into Saturdays game knowing they can now not make the end of season playoffs after last weekend’s 24-14 home defeat against Wigan St Pats which is disappointing after having high ambitions at the start of the year, with the lads lifting the Conference Challenge Trophy for a second successive year a couple of weeks ago they are eager for more success again next year but they know if they are to have more than Challenge Trophy successes in the future they will have to be a lot more consistent than they have been this year with an eighth place finish not being good enough for a club the size of Leigh Miners.

Coaches Allan Coleman & Paul Whitworth will have to make at least two changes from last week with Danny Jones & Jonny Youds both missing the game through injury and work respectively. Coming back into contention for a place in the seventeen are Tom Farrimond Kev Howells Darryl Kay and Josh Ward.

Myton go into Saturdays game on the back of a 38-26 home victory against Egremont Rangers two weeks ago to move them off the bottom of the table at the expense of Ince Rose Bridge but with them already being relegated along with Bridge and York Acorn they will have nothing but pride to play in their final game of the year. The Warriors where expected to be challenging for the title again this year but after the loss of key players to the pro game and a bad run of injuries they have struggled to find any kind of form or consistency that got them NCL Grand Final last season, when the two teams met at Marist earlier in the year Myton won 32-18.
