Leigh Miners attentions turn to the cup again on Saturday when they welcome high flying Cumbrian outfit Wath Brow Hornets to Twist Lane in the Quarter Final of the Conference Challenge Cup, Kick off 2-30pm. Miners will be looking to bounce straight back from last weekend’s narrow 20-16 league defeat at Siddal with victory against an inform Hornets outfit who are joint top of the NCL and have won 11 of their last 12 league and cup matches. With the tie being at home the lads are confident of producing a strong performance and are eager to book themselves a place in the last four of the competition. Ross Bradley, Liam Coleman, Darryl Kay and Sean Pendlebury all return after missing last week along with Jimmy Muir who returns to the first team after missing the last few matches, John Woods and Craig Connor are both away on holiday while Aaron Gorton misses out through injury.

The Second team are away on Saturday against Latchford Albion in the League (NWMD2), Kick off 2-30pm. Miners are currently third in the table with their hosts Latchford being fourth.

The u18s travel to Yorkshire on Sunday  to play in the Hunslet Warriors festival.
