Leigh Miners make a midweek trip to Hull tonight (Wednesday) to take on East Hull in a rearranged Round 21 NCL fixture after the original game scheduled at the beginning of September was postponed due to Miners playing in the NCL Challenge Cup Semi Final, Kick off 8pm at West Hull Community Park.

It’s a short turn around for Miners after Sunday’s final but the lads will be travelling to Humberside in very good spirits from the weekend and will be keen to pick up two more points to keep them on course for a top six finish, Victory over Easts tonight would move Miners into sixth place two points behind leaders Myton Warriors and a point behind joint second placed teams Thatto Heath, West Hull, Wath Brow Hornets & Siddal with a game in hand of all of the teams around them and two in hand of West Hull.

East Hull go into the game on the back of a 45-22 home win against Wigan St Pats at the weekend, a win that moved them up to tenth in the table and another win tonight would almost certainly secure there Premier Division status for another year as they battle it out with Leigh East & Skirlaugh in avoiding finishing in the final relegation spot.

Miners make a few changes from Sunday’s seventeen with Dave Rowlands & Jonny Youds both missing out being away on holiday along with Ross Bradley & Danny Jackson who both miss out through injury. Replacing them in the team are Jonny Carroll, Craig Connor, James Muir & Gareth Pain.

Leigh Miners Ladies are away to West Craven Warriors on Sunday in the playoffs.
