Leigh Miners take on Hull Dockers on Saturday afternoon in Round 13 of the NCL, Kick off 2:30pm at Twist Lane.

Miners go into the game on the back of two successive home victories and they will be looking to make it three on Saturday to move them closer towards a top six spot. With competition for places starting to increase with players returning from injuries the lads know individually they are going to have to be on their game if they want to remain in the match day seventeen but has a team they will have to produce a better performance than last week if they are to get the two points, You can’t fault the effort the lads are giving but they need to be smarter in their attack as it was way to scrappy last weekend and they made the game much harder for themselves than it needed to be.

Coaches Allan Coleman and Paul Whitworth may be forced into making at least three changes from last week’s team that played against Ince Rose Bridge with Sean McDonald and Jonny Youds likely to miss the game through injury along with Chris Slater who is away for the weekend. Coming back into contention for a place in the seventeen are Andrew Groves Andrew Hodson Kev Howells and Dave Rowlands. On the injury front both McDonald and Youds should be available for the trip to West Hull if they don’t play on Saturday along with hopefully Lee Gittins and Danny Jackson who are recovering well from their injuries, leaving Ross Bradley Martin Lewis and Shaun Marsh as Miners only long term injury casualties.

Hull Dockers go into the game on the back of a poor run of results, having started the season winning their first five matches and being at the top of the table they have since gone on to lose eight of their last nine to drop down to tenth in the ladder, their only recent victory coming at the beginning of June against Ince Rose Bridge where they won 22-10.
