Miners Alliance on the Verge of Promotion
Miners Rangers’ Alliance team stand on the brink of promotion following a nail-biting win over fellow high-fliers Latchford Albion on a wild and windy Hallowe’en at Twist Lane. Simon Travis’ men trailed for long spells of the game to a strong Albion side but a late try for Scott Travis helped the Leigh side secure a 26-16 win. Although Latchford and Bold Miners can still mathematically catch the Miners, a draw for the Leigh side in their last game at Leyland will be enough to confirm Division One rugby for 2013.
