Leigh Miners return to the bread and butter of the league on Saturday when they travel to Humberside to take on last year’s beaten grand finalists Myton Warriors in Round 5 of the NCL, Kick off 2-30pm at Marist Sporting Club.

Miners will be looking to build on last Sundays excellent performance against Barrow Raiders with another strong showing in Hull but know they can expect another tough test against a Myton side who will be determined to pick up their first league win of the season having lost both of their matches so far this season. Attacking wise last week at Barrow was the most fluent it has been this year with club captain Scott O’Brien hoping it will continue to get better in the coming weeks, with Scott saying ” I thought we was more patient last week and was building pressure instead of trying to score off every play I also think as a team we listened a lot better to myself and other pivot players in what we wanted to do and what areas of the field we wanted to get to and that showed in how we attacked because we were causing Barrow a lot of problems.”  Scott also added “Hopefully the game on Sunday can boost our confidence now and kick start our season, we have shown in glimpses what we are capable of and now we need to put it all together and have a good run of results in the league”.
