SKIRLAUGH (HOME)
Leigh Miners entertain Skirlaugh tomorrow afternoon in Round 6 of the NCL Summer season, Kick off 2-30pm at Twist Lane. It’s a short turn around after Tuesday night’s 19-10 derby defeat against Leigh East and while there will still be a few aching bodies from midweek it will be ideal for the lads to bounce straight back from the disappointment of Tuesday and pick up their third successive home victory, if they are to do that they know they will have to play a lot smarter in good ball to beat an inform Hull outfit. Skirlaugh are currently fourth in the table with one defeat, two wins and a draw which come last week at home against East Hull, Skirlaugh have won both games on the road this season with victories against Wigan St Pats & Saddleworth Rangers and with Miners winning their two home encounters this season something will have to give tomorrow afternoon.
The second team are in action tonight away at Wigan St Judes in a friendly before their league campaign starts next weekend.
Leigh Miners Ladies are away on Sunday to Chorley Panthers in the first round of the Women’s Challenge Cup.
