Leigh Miners are back in front of the television cameras on Saturday when they take on Milford Marlins in Round 11 of the Kingstone Press Cider National Conference League Division One, Kick off at the earlier time of 13:05 to fit in with the tv scheduling on FreeSports which is on SKY Channel 422

Miners go into Saturday’s big game on the back a hard fought 30-23 away victory at Skirlaugh last weekend to move themselves up into third position in Division One. After trailing 19-6 and being under pressure in the first half by a good Skirlaugh outfit a try either side of the half time interval from Scott O’Brien and Rob Crompton got Miners back into the game at 19-18, although Skirlaugh scored again to increase their lead to five points the lads continued to battle hard and got their rewards at the back end of the game with tries from Tom Farrimond and Joe Connor, Jack Reynolds landing all the conversions to give Miners a well deserved win.

This week all the players know they are going to be in for a very tough game against a big Milford outfit who like to throw the ball about, but they are determined to put in a strong performance like they did the last time they was on FreeSports as they look for a sixth successive victory to keep in the mix with Thornhill & Lock Lane at the top of the table.

Coach Dave Rowlands has the rare luxury of naming an unchanged seventeen for the first time this season, with all of last weeks team pulling through ok and being available to take on Milford this weekend.

Milford Marlins make the journey over to Leigh in fourth position in Division One on the same points (14) as Miners who are in third, The Marlins have won six, drawn two and lost two from their ten games played this season and have recently been boosted by the arrival of several Ukraine internationals who are here for the remainder of the 2018 season.
