Miners Make New Media Appointment
Leigh Miners Rangers are delighted to announce the appointment of Kieran Makin as Head of Sports Media for the club, a newly created role for 2017 that has been established as a result of the club’s recent partnership with UCLan.
Kieran is a highly talented up and coming sports broadcast journalist who is currently completing his final year of studies at the University of Central Lancashire. An accomplished writer who provides content for the local and regional press, online publications and his own media outlets, Kieran has also been a part of the very successful team at Leigh Centurions TV over the last 18 months. This new role will see Kieran develop a media programme for the club that will include the filming of all home and away NCL games, some coverage of NWML, Youth and Women’s fixtures, pre and post-match interviews and a weekly highlights reel for Leigh Miners TV, along with the production of match reports for press submission, match day programme content and management of the club’s website and social media platforms.
In conjunction with UCLan, Kieran will also bring together and manage a media team to support other areas he is looking to progress within his role at the club, whilst also creating a sustainable future for the sports media programme and its continued development at Leigh Miners Rangers.
