Leigh Miners make the trip to Castleford on Saturday to take on Lock Lane in Round 16 of the NCL, Kick off 2-30pm at Lock Lane Sports Centre.

Miners travel to Yorkshire in a confident mood having notched up their sixth successive victory last weekend to keep them in eighth position on eighteen points just three points behind leaders Wigan St Pats who have twenty one points. The lads now have a big few weeks in front of them with successive away games in the league followed by a massive cup semi-final at home and although they will all be tough matches they are determined to keep their recent good run of results going and be up their challenging for honours at the business end of the season.

With coaches Allan Coleman and Paul Whitworth both being away on holiday ex Leigh Centurions star John Duffy takes the coaching reins this week in their absence. Four forced changes have been made from last week’s team that won against Wath Brow with Andrew Hodson and Scott O’Brien  both being away on holiday along with Tom Farrimond and Steven Marsh who are both away in Nottingham for the weekend. Coming into the side are Gary Greenough Joe Harrison Chris Slater and either Daniel Myers or David Wood.

Lock Lane have had a very good return to life back in the Premier Division this year winning ten of their sixteen matches so far this season to leave them in fifth position on twenty points level on points with West Hull Thatto Heath Crusaders and Wath Brow Hornets who are above them in fourth third and second respectively in the table. After having two free weekends at the beginning of July Lock Lane returned to action last week and suffered a shock 26-24 defeat away at Ince Rose Bridge.
