Leigh Miners make their final visit of the regular season to Humberside on Saturday to take on top of the table Myton Warriors in Round 26 of the NCL, Kick off 2-30pm at Marist Sporting Club.

It’s a short turn around after Wednesday night’s scrappy 50-30 victory against Saddleworth Rangers and with the games coming thick and fast over the next week for Miners all the lads are determined to continue their good run of form and finish the season as high as they can in the league. Victory for Miners on Saturday would move them level on points with Myton with a game in hand.

Coaches Allan Coleman and Paul Whitworth are forced into making four changes from Wednesday with Tom Farrimond, Kev Howells & Sean Pendlebury all being away for the weekend and Liam Coleman being out injured. John Woods returns to the side after missing the last month through injury along with Todd Appleby, Ste Kenny and Luke Warburton from the second team.

Myton Warriors are having an excellent season in their first year in the Premier Division and know that by taking maximum points from their final two matches would see them crowned Minor Premiers.

Leigh Miners Women’s side will be playing in their biggest game since being formed last year on Sunday when they take on Brighouse Rangers in the Women’s Plate Playoff Final, Kick off 11-30am at the Stobart Stadium, Widnes.

The second team game against Latchford Albion this weekend has been postponed due to the Twist Lane pitch undergoing some maintenance work for next year, the game will be rearranged at a later date.
